 · A note from a reader about another LP-to-CD quirk: "The late s re-release of The Swing Era omitted the vinyl album STL (The Day of the Great Entertainers), which I had to digitally restore and make my own CD-R to complete the CD set. I contacted Time-Life and they informed me that they had no plans to issue the album on CD.

 · The EMI twofers are bad. The End of the World LP sounds far superior. There's a recent 3 LP gatefold of Julie London that combines three albums in one jacket (Calendar Girl, Julie and Julie At Home) on heavy white vinyl with plain cover art. Probably digital .

  2. Julie London's got her hair up, and is wearing a classy gown – so you can bet that the feel of the record definitely follows through with the "sophisticated" promise of the title! Things are as mellow as on London's early classics for Liberty, but there's a bit more of an orchestrated feel too – fuller backings that couch her lovely vocals in a near-perfect array of Brand: Liberty (Label).
